And if singing and dancing isn’t your thing - but you LOVE getting amongst it and think community theatre is the bomb – there are also lots of roles behind-the-scenes.

Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre
Our Winter 2022 show is two-part extravaganza – a variety-style for the first half, followed by an original short play that’s a hilarious trip to the future featuring aliens and space.
No need to prepare for the audition. Our process is fun and inclusive. We have an open chorography session to see how you move, a little bit of singing to check out your range, and some script reading.
Rehearsal nights are Sundays & Mondays from May-August.

About Matuku Community Theatre: Previously known as Sumner Theatre Group, MCT changed our name in 2021 to better reflect the company’s new home in the Matuku Takotako Sumner Centre.
We are open to anyone over the age of 16 who are willing to commit their time and energy to the art of theatre in a company with true community spirit.
